AI Readiness Audit — know exactly where your business stands before you invest.

Most businesses don’t fail at AI because they lack ambition. They fail because they start without a clear picture of where they are. The Akoora AI Readiness Audit fixes that.

Fixed fee. No lock-in. Results in three weeks.

The most expensive AI mistake is starting in the wrong place.

Mid-size businesses are under pressure to act on AI. Vendors are pitching tools. Competitors are making announcements. Boards are asking questions.

So organisations invest — in software, in consultants, in training programs — before they know what they actually need. The result is money spent on tools nobody uses, strategies built on assumptions, and teams left wondering why nothing changed.

The AI Readiness Audit exists to answer the question that should come before any of that: where does your business actually stand?

What we assess

We examine your business across four dimensions. Each one tells a different part of the story — and together, they give a complete picture of where you are and what to prioritise.

People

How AI-aware is your team? We assess current capability levels, attitudes toward AI adoption, skill gaps, and where change management will need to focus. The most sophisticated AI strategy fails if your people aren’t ready to use it.

Process

Where are your highest-value automation opportunities? We map your workflows to identify the tasks that are most repetitive, most time-consuming, and most suitable for AI — ranked by impact and implementation complexity.

Data

AI is only as good as the data behind it. We assess the quality, accessibility, and structure of your data — and flag the gaps that would limit what AI can realistically do for your business right now.

Technology

What are you working with, and what will it support? We review your existing technology stack, identify integration constraints, and assess your infrastructure’s readiness for AI tools and automation.

How the audit works

1

Scoping call

We spend 30 minutes understanding your business — your size, structure, priorities, and any concerns you have coming in. This lets us tailor the audit to what matters most for your organisation.

2

Assessment

Over two to three weeks, we work through the four dimensions with the relevant people in your business — structured interviews, workflow reviews, and a review of your technology and data environment.

3

Your report

You receive a prioritised, plain-English report. It tells you where you stand across all four dimensions, what’s working, what’s holding you back, and where to start.

Is the audit right for you?

The AI Readiness Audit is built for mid-size Australian businesses — typically 50 to 500 people — that are serious about AI but haven’t yet committed to a direction.

You’re a CEO or MD

who wants to make an informed decision about AI before committing budget — and wants to walk into the board conversation with something credible.

You’re a COO or operations leader

who suspects there are significant efficiency gains available in your workflows, but needs evidence before making the case internally.

You’re an IT or technology leader

who is being asked to evaluate AI tools or platforms and wants an independent assessment of what your infrastructure will actually support.

If you’ve already done an audit and you’re ready to build a strategy, our AI Strategy & Roadmap engagement may be the better starting point.

What you get at the end

  • A scored readiness assessment across all four dimensions — people, process, data, and technology
  • A plain-English summary of your current AI position
  • A prioritised list of opportunities — ranked by impact and effort
  • An honest assessment of the risks and constraints specific to your business
  • A recommended next step — whether that’s a strategy engagement, a specific automation, or simply a clearer picture of what to watch for in the next 12 months

The report is yours. There is no obligation to engage Akoora further — though most clients do, because the audit gives them the clarity to make that decision confidently.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the audit take?+

Most audits are completed within three weeks of the scoping call. The timeline depends on your team’s availability for interviews and reviews — we work around your schedule, not the other way around.

How much does the AI Readiness Audit cost?+

The audit is a fixed-fee engagement. Pricing is scoped based on the size and complexity of your organisation. Book a conversation to get a quote — there’s no obligation.

Do we need to have AI tools or projects already in place?+

No. Many of our audit clients are starting from zero. The audit is designed to assess readiness regardless of where you are — whether you’ve invested in AI already or haven’t started yet.

What happens after the audit?+

You receive your report and we walk you through the findings in a debrief session. From there, the next step is yours. Some clients move straight into an AI Strategy & Roadmap engagement. Others take the report and act on it internally.

Is our data and business information kept confidential?+

Yes. Everything shared during the audit is treated as strictly confidential. We don’t share client information or use it in any external reporting.

How is this different from doing an internal review ourselves?+

An internal review is limited by what your team already knows. An external audit brings an independent perspective, a structured framework, and experience across multiple organisations — which means we can tell you not just where you are, but how that compares to businesses at a similar stage.

We’re not sure we’re big enough for this. Who does Akoora typically work with?+

We work with mid-size Australian organisations — typically 50 to 500 people. If you’re at the smaller end and moving quickly, or at the larger end and running complex operations, we’re still worth talking to. The audit scales to your organisation.

Start with clarity.

The AI Readiness Audit is a fixed-fee, time-boxed engagement with a single output: a clear picture of where your business stands and where to start.
